Literacy

Literacy is demonstrated throughout this Web Quest  as students engage in a variety of

different everyday literacy activities.


This web quest provides opportunities for students to develop their literacy skills as they:  

Engage in discussions and record their thinking, ideas and questions in journals,

Draw labelled diagrams and force arrow diagrams

Write written explanations of their science understandings

Complete literacy worksheets

Write and review articles

Critique games

Numeracy

 This Web Quest gives students the opportunity to be engaged in tasks involving practical measurement and the collection, representation and interpretation of data from investigations. This WebQuest encourages   students to develop their mathematical understanding in the following ways:  

Collection and recording of data

Analysis of data and drawing of conclusions

Measuring length, distance (depending on investigation chosen)

Problem solving

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Competence

This web quest provides opportunities for students to develop their ICT skills in the following ways:  

Use digital photographs / video recordings to present information and understandings research, using a variety of software to design their story book

Critical and Creative Thinking

Through this web quest students  pose questions solve problems , analyse and evaluate evidence and summarise information.

Students plan and conduct practical investigations.

Students are asked to think in new ways about observations of the world around us and how forces are used. Students develop their critical and creative thinking skills in the following ways:

 How to successfully achieve the outcomes required?

Trying to explain their thinking behind what happened and why?
