Solve a real world issue
For this project, students will chose a topic of their interest and create their own project.

Task

Choose a problem or issue in the world; it can be a community issue or a global issue. Research your topic and create a solution for it. You may use a variety of digital tools to enhance your presentation.
You will build a video telling your story of how you can make the community and our world a better place.
You may also wish to create a formal presentation that can be shared publically, such as a website, TED-Talk style video, etc.
You will be given ---- weeks to finish your project.
You will present your final product and explain about the process involved in the creation of the video. The staff, parents and students will be invited to assess teams’ presentations and final product.

 How to get started

The project involves the following stages:

Stage one-choice of topic

  • Read about some of the various issues and decide on one which you would like to investigate further.
  • Let your teacher know what topic you have chosen

Stage two - research the topic

Your project may address the following:
  • How and when it became a problem? How has the problem changed over time?
  • Who is affected by the problem and how
  • How do others (individuals, governments, businesses etc.) contribute (add) to the problem?
  • Where is the problem greatest? Why?
  • What is being done to address (solve) the problem? What more needs to be done?
Stage three- propose solution to solve the issue/problem

  •  What are your thoughts (opinions) about the problem?
  •  How do you think it can be solved?
  • What are you proposal to solve it?

Stage 4- presenting your final work

  •  Decide which tool you’re going to use to present your findings
  • Take the time to use the tool to develop your final product (video, tedtalk talk style video, website or a normal presentation)
