Week 4
Friction
Task
Your task this week is to conduct a fair test to establish how friction affects the distance travelled by a toy car.
In your investigation you will explore friction through pushing an object (toy car) across different surfaces.
In your investigation you will roll a toy car down a ramp and on to different surfaces. You will measure how far the toy car travels along the different surfaces.
Graph your results
Extension
1- How unseen forces affect our lives?
2- Discuss why sports shoes/trainers often have many ridges and bumps to help them grip – changes of direction in sports, when you are moving fast, etc. Some sports shoes are even designed with a particular surface in mind!
